Yemanja Brasil Restaurante and World Aquarium Celebrate Yemanja Day!
Yemanja Brasil Restaurante, home of fine Brazilian dining will be celebrating Yemanja Day Feb. 2, 2011 in honor of Brazil's most beloved Sea Goddess.

Celebration festivities will begin at 5:00p.m. On this occasion, we will be serving a 4-course special seafood menu for $25.00 per person, includes appetizer, soup or salad, entrée, and dessert. Advanced reservations required.

Yemanja Day 4-Course Menu




  • Appetizer Selection
    Oysters Ochún
    Fresh oysters on-the-half-shell; serves with a tomato, horseradish sauce and lime wedges.
    Acarajé Baiana
    Black-eye peas fritter; served with a spicy shrimp sauce.
    Empanadas de Camarão
    Fried pastry pie stuffed with shrimp and Brazilian cream sauce; served with a spicy tomato dipping sauce.
    Bolinhos de Caranguejo
    Flaky, golden brown crab cake; served with pineapple relish.
    Marisco Buzios
    Fresh mussels steamed with a white wine, seafood broth.

  • Soup or Salad of the Day
    Salmoa Bisque
    Salada - Seasonal lettuce, shredded carrots, tomato wedges, fresh-baked herb croutons topped with our house creamy vinaigrette.

  • Entree Selection
    Mar e Terra (Surf-N-Turf )
    Charbroiled, top-cut sirloin stuffed with shrimp prepared in white wine, lime, mushroom, and red pepper flake sauce; served with mashed potatoes and asparagus.
    Camarão na Moranga
    Baked, acorn squash stuffed with an acorn, rock-shrimp cream sauce and garnished with a jumbo shrimp; served with rice.
    Caldeirada do Mar
    Seasonal fish, calamari, mussels, shrimp, and rice served in caldron with a spicy ginger, saffron, and white wine, seafood broth.
    Salmão Tropical
    Sautéed salmon in a cachaça, curry, and sweet basil sauce topped with a pineapples and grapes; served with coconut rice.
    Pescado Miranda
    Sautéed tilapia in a coconut cream sauce topped with fried bananas and provolone cheese; served over rice.

  • Dessert Selection
    Churros
    Brazilian doughnut. A crunchy tubular doughnut rolled in sugar with a passion, cream cheese filling and drizzled with chocolate; served with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream.
    Pudim de Coco
    Coconut bread pudding on a bedding of our homemade rich caramel cream sauce topped with toasted coconut.
    Strawberry Paveé
    Champagne cookies dipped in Disaronno Amaretto liqueur, layered with strawberry puree, egg custard cream, Ypióca Crystal Cachaça (Brazilian rum) flavored whipped cream and topped with strawberry sauce.
It is customary for Yemanja's admirers to write down their wishes on paper and send them out to sea in a small boat. We will collect our customers' wishes in an especially decorated bottle and the owner dressed in white will send this bottle down the Mississippi River. Another custom is offerings of white roses presented to Yemanja. In honor of Her, our lady patrons will receive a white rose which symbolizes “Luck and Best Wishes”. All will be documented by photos posted our website.

Yemanja Brasil will also be holding a raffle (Now - Feb. 14th) to benefit the World Aquarium. The raffle tickets are $1.00 each for some great prizes.
